Husband and wife creators Charles and Ray Eames, initially designed this attractive and state-of-the-art piece of lounge set in 1956 as a present for their good friend and movie director Billy Wilder (‘some like it hot’, Sunset Blvd’). Ever since it's introduction, the Eames lounge chair has grown to be one of the most attractive and relaxing pieces of furniture of all time.
There aren’t many who wouldn’t recognise this contemporary armchair, as it has emerged on screen numerous occasions in sitcoms such as, ‘Friends’ - as Joey and Chandlers’ centre item armchairs, constantly described in the show as simply being way too relaxing to stand up off and one of which is even given a name (‘Rosita’).
